About ICPHD 2025

Welcome to the 3rd Edition of the International Conference on Petroleum, Hydrogen, and Decarbonisation organized by RGIPT Jais, this conference brings together leading experts, researchers, and industry pioneers to explore cutting-edge developments in the fields of petroleum, hydrogen, and decarbonisation. As we navigate an era marked by the urgent need for sustainable energy solutions, this year’s theme—Advances, Challenges & Opportunities for a Sustainable Future—focuses on the critical ole these industries play in shaping a low-carbon world.

Over the course of this conference, we aim to highlight recent innovations, tackle the challenges impeding progress, and discuss the vast opportunities for creating a sustainable energy future. Through insightful discussions, collaborations, and knowledge sharing, we are determined to contribute to the global transition towards a cleaner, greener, and more resilient energy landscape.

We invite you to engage, learn, and collaborate, as we collectively move toward a future powered by advanced technologies, innovative solutions, and a commitment to sustainability.

About the Department

The department is focused on facilitating the flow of knowledge in the domain through its advanced pedagogy and state-of-the-art research facilities to the students. It enables them to understand, develop and apply the knowledge gained in the fields of Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir, Drilling, Production Operations, and Economics required in the Petroleum Industry. The department hosts a number of laboratories for undergraduate studies and research in Reservoir Engineering, Drilling Fluid design and analysis, Enhanced oil recovery, Flow assurance, Reservoir modelling and simulation, Gas Hydrates, Geology, Geophysics, and Rock mechanics.

The Institute

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), Government of India, set up the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology at Jais, Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, by an Act of the Parliament. The institute has accorded the status of an Institution of National Importance along with the lines of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The institute is empowered to award degrees in its own right and is co-promoted as an energy domain specific institute by six leading oil public sector units (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Oil India Limited, Gail (India) Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited) in association with the Oil Industry Development Board. The institute is associated with the leading International Universities/Institutions specializing in the domain of Petroleum Technology and Energy Sector.

The prime objective of the institute is to provide excellent education, training, and research to roll out efficient human resources, and to meet the growing requirements of the Petroleum and Energy industry. The institute is offering a number of Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programmes, Postgraduate Diploma Courses and Doctoral Programmes in Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Management.
